gj1023
We stayed in a CS near Woodhall Spa a couple weeks ago for 5 nights in our AS Symbol and all things worked ok, even with frost on the ground.

snowie
Pete-B - 2013-03-03 6:57 PM Living in South Lincolnshire when do you think it will be safe to De winterise and fill up with water in preparation for our first trip out? Depends when your first trip will be I suppose, but here in sunny Lincoln area not been too bad. Had a couple of daytrips with no need for much water so frost not really a problem. We did a short week in Northumberland in November; got back drained down 3 nights in Ellesmere Port area in January, got back and drained down No problem. And if you don't put more water in than you need, not too wasteful. Since Jan I've had a thermostatic oil-rad inside and used that when concerned about harsh frost. regards alan b

colin
Last night it was -4 in sunny Bedfordshire *-) , but it depends how winterised your van is and if you intend heating it overnight, three (? ) years back we where on a site in Exmoor on the week leading up to easter and woke up to see horizontal snow outside. colin
Just checked and it's -2 so far tonight, looks like it's thermals to work again tomorrow, as the hanger is like a fridge until the sun gets shining.

bolero boy
Pete-B - 2013-03-03 6:57 PM Living in South Lincolnshire when do you think it will be safe to De winterise and fill up with water in preparation for our first trip out?...................if we have no water in the van (due to fully emptying at the end of each trip in cold weather) then we fill when we get to our first stop. Why use your own water when you can use someone else's (we are on a meter!). Why carry 100 ltr of water when not necessary? Why risk frost by filling van if you aren't about to drive it away and use it?

David Dwight
Whats wrong with going away throughout the year. Already done nearly 4 weeks this year away, we have had Sun Snow Wind Rain, why spend all that money on a M/home and not use it!
fjmike
I don't know if winter has gone but it must be spring as the amount of owners contacting me for a valet has shot up. Yesterday was probably the summer of 2013, it was that warm I was able to shed coat and jumper whilst valeting a van (haven't done that since last year :-D )
colin
Forecast on LookEast for Monday is max 3 min -2, so keep the thermals on standby.
Dave225
If you look North it is b....y freezing and snow is a distinct possibility for the beginning of next week. Like Pelmetman we spend 99% of our holiday outside the Uk as we have given up on taking chances. Ready for the 'off' in about 6 weeks and then it is all summer in the Med. It allows me to get enough credit on the gas bill to pay the extra use in the winter. In Edinburgh you can tell when it is summer as the elderly ladies discard one of their 3 cardigans.
