Had a quick look through those references and they would seem to confirm that since becoming Pope he has not " claimed the Falklands for Argentina within five minutes of getting the job "

;-)

Give him time Malc ;-)

Now this could be a discussion for another thread :-D Who thinks we have a right to the Falklands??

>:-) DUCK !!!

Maggy , they are British living for me on what is a part of British soil so it is irrelevant what it costs .

If you want to question what things cost then question what it costs to house , police , educate , healthcare etc etc to non British subjects in this country .

Having heard the Archbishop of Durban's comments on peadophiles I remembered instantly why I dislike and don't trust the Catholic Church . Disgraceful .

You mean this Antony? :-S................The Catholic Archbishop of Durban, Wilfrid Fox Napier, has described paedophilia as a psychological "illness, not a criminal condition".

He might have a point and it could catching...... as it appears to be endemic in the Catholic church 8-)

Ah yes, Paedophilia is a psychological illness, no wonder they keep a stock of choir boys, no doubt in case it becomes contagious and they run short on medication. :-S

My medication would be far more effective, castration. >:-)

Religion in my view decisive, without any foundation, and for the most part a device of control over one human being over another. My grandchildren believe in the tooth fairy, at least they had some proof of its existence, the 50p left under the pillow. >:-)

Who specifically, the bigots that have systematically covered up paedophilia in their ranks, or folk that post something that your not comfortable with ?

As for not understanding, yes I plead guilty to that, a load of blokes dressed up in fancy robes, some of whom with very dubious morals.

We're home now as it happens!

The trouble with spell checkers is they can't tell you when you write your instead of you're. And you and your thick mate from Huddersfield are the only people I've come across who can't work out the difference between of and have, as in: 'You should of gone to Specsavers' or 'I could of told you................'.

I suppose you started by dropping the aitch from have and then 'ave became of. Scary!

And why do you think that any word of five letters or fewer should always have an apostrophe in it, as in euro's or lie's? Spell checkers can't make up for a two digit IQ I'm afraid.

But despite this low intelligence you and your chums somehow know for certain that there is no God. How do you know this? Believe me, there are people far cleverer than any of us who do believe in God and I'm not so arrogant as to think that they may be wrong, I simply don't know. But you do of course and not only do you somehow know, but you disparage and condemn anyone who has the temerity to believe that there may well be a supreme being of some kind. My wife firmly believes in God and her faith gives her huge comfort, as it does for millions of others. But they're all fools of course, because the Chatterbox Morons' Club knows for sure that they are wrong.

You're like a foaming-at-the-mouth lynch mob of redneck bigots where there is anything or anyone that you don't like or don't agree with.

No wonder so many people no longer post in here.

It may give comfort to your wife, but if you care to get of your high horse for one minute, how much comfort did it give to the kids sexually abused then and now by people supposed to stand for God.

The Incas or someone like them I used to chop people heads off to appease their Gods, so if we were having the discussion in that time, no doubt they would be just as enraged to be told it was bunkum, and has absolutely no basis in fact. ;-)

People should rise to the challenge if they want to defend their corner, not call them semi-literate bigots, and P.S, you know what because someone does not know exactly where to put a full stop is hardly a hanging offence. :-)

Your're so like my old mate Francis :D...............I'll take the above as a compliment ;-)...............as what it means is if I disagree with you then I must be a moron B-)...............I'd rather be a moron than a member of the gullible.....Oooop's I meant faithful :D

As for low intelligence I was invited to join MENSA........but they asked for money to join 8-)..............I'm not that stupid (lol) (lol) (lol)

If I may interject in this competition to see who can be the biggest bigot, there is a school of thought currently that the Incas did not, in fact, engage in human sacrifice. Just in case anyone was thinking of tarring all Incas with the same brush! (lol) (lol) (lol)

Had It Up welcome back , am sure if I was your wife I would turn to religion too , probably the Muslim faith , klingon , mormon anything and if that don't work whisky might .

Are you standing up for all false Gods that people strongly believe or believed in ? Roman Gods , Viking Gods , do they exist also ?

Anyone remember Doris Stokes, she was adamant she would make her presence felt from the other side, I'm still waiting with anticipation, if it's OK there I will sign up. But of course she was just another con artist. ;-)

Mind you some of our human kind at least put their suicide vests on to queue jump, so they must be certain, mmmm. and are not the least selfish, they very often take loads of others with them.

Ah religion, best thing before sliced bread.

No - its based on scientific evidence I believe. I'd better spell that out for some people who have clearly never heard the word before: e-v-i-d-e-n-c-e. Hope that's put your mind at rest. :-D

But it leads me on to an interesting thought. Although most of South America is nominally Catholic, if you go into a church in Peru or Bolivia you will always find the Inca sun god somewhere on the altar (the Catholics were very good at converting people by saying they could carry on worshipping whatever they worshipped before!). Many South Americans only pay lip service to the "new" god and really still believe in the old one. When I asked one of them how he could, as an intelligent person, believe in any of this nonsense (old or new) his reply was that at least you could see the old god - it rises every morning at sets every night. I had to concede he had a point!

So they didn't kill people as a human sacrifice :-S..............they just did it for fun? 8-)

Human sacrifice: Dozens of Incas killed in ritual found in Peru

Archaeologists in Peru have discovered the remains of nearly three dozen people sacrificed some 600 years ago by the Incan civilisation.

The bodies, some of which show signs of having been cut along their necks and collarbones, were otherwise found in good condition, said Carlos Webster, who is leading excavations at the Chotuna-Chornancap camp.

The sprawling 235-acre archeological site is 12 miles outside the coastal city of Chiclayo, near the ancient tomb of Sipan, which was one of the great finds of the last century. The sacrifices were made just decades before Spanish explorers arrived in what is now Peru.

Although archeologists regularly find evidence of human sacrifice from Incan and pre-Incan cultures, it is rare to find the remains of 33 people in one place, researchers said.

I think you'll find if you look it up that the Incas had more killing done to them than they did to others - and the records don't refer to anybody enjoying it much :-D
