THE SHEPHERD
Having just returned by air from Cyprus by air we relized how much we disliked flying and how much we missed our camper (POPPY) So, the plan is travel down to Italy find an airport nearest to Cyprus and fly for a limited time. We would have to leave the camper on a site for two weeks. So any advice from those that attempted or looked at such a scheme would be welcome. Time is not an issue. Lobster
Well if time isn't an issue ... why not take the van all the way to Cyprus? We did!! Superb travelling along the Turkish coast. You have to get as far as Tasucu, then sail to Northern Cyprus, but it's easy enough to cross to the south these days (although the bureaucracy has to be seen to be believed). We did get stranded there for a week, but hey there are worse places :-) If you want to read about our experience getting to, around and out of Cyprus, look at episodes 57-65 on our blog: www.theworldisourlobster.com Cheers Catherine
BGD
JudgeMental - 2013-03-20 2:20 PM have you read a newspaper recently? :D Just means it's gonna be cheaper there in future for visitors. Ability to speak Russian might be handy though...........

lennyhb
Can you get you van insured if you leave it for two weeks in Italy? Most policies there is a limit of 24 or 36 hours when left unattended outside the UK.
