Guest JudgeMental Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 First it was football clubs, but now it looks like Russia branching out and about to purchase its own Mediterranean island in the sun...Cyprus! Looks like Cyprus would rather deal with a bunch of gangsters then the EU :-S

John 47 Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 RogerC - 2013-03-21 12:04 PM It will be interesting to see how the US of A views this situation...... Good job Bush isn't in charge any more or he - and his mate Blair - would be in there looking for roubles of mass destruction. (lol)
Dave225 Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Could be interesting if the Russkies did set up a military base on Cyprus just down the road from all the British ones. Mind you the Russkies are not the first to try and buy Med property through the back door. During the Greek crisis the Germans thought it would be a good idea if Greece gave Germany some of the Aegean islands as an alternative and I know that a few years ago Germany offered to buy Mallorca as they felt it would be an ideal holiday destination for Germans without nasty Brits putting towels on the sun loungers. Of course the Germans offered to keep the Mallorcans as they needed cleaners and bar staff. Plus our dear friends the Finns asked to be given the Parthenon as part of a Greek bailout. What was it Hitler said?? 'I just want peace, a piece of this and a piece of that'. Actually why does Osborne not just give Cyprus the £5.8 billion and get some of the oil exploration rights in turn. After all he was quick enough to give Ireland about £7 billion to help them out.

Now there's an idea ;-)................although they might have to buy another printing press........as the ones they've got must be going like the clappers :D

I’m sure you have bought products from bankrupt locations. Anyway the Russians have to live somewhere I would rather they lived here or Spain as it’s only a matter of time before they go the same way, than living in wonderful Britian..
