Dave Newell
Hi Michelle, I've fitted a few Parrott Bluetooth kits and they work extrememly well. No it isn't easily removeable as it connects to your radio and uses the radio speakers for the received part of the call. Don't know how stealable they are though. If you have a bluetooth enabled phone then there are several options open to you. you could use a relatively cheap bluetooth headset, I have one that cost about £15 I think it was and it works ok but I find the in ear speaker uncomfortable and not loud enough. Maplin have a couple of CD radio units with bluetooth built in so the radio becomes your hands free kit, I also have one of these in my work van and it works well, much better than the headset. Or there is the parrott kit. the beauty of the parrot kit is it does everything and tells you verbally what's going on (when you dial a number it reads out each digit of the number. It can also read your phone book up from your phone so you can dial from the phone book without touching your phone. D.

Dave Newell
Hi Michelle, Which one are you thinking of fitting in the Volvo? The Parrot is not removeable or "face off" but the bluetooth cd radios from Maplin are. you will probably need adapter lead sets for both the AVIC and your Volvo. D. michele
Dave , Thankyou ideal for the Van ,but not for the Car . The Volvo has a purpose built radio with no DIN slot. My husband has a hands free car kit fitted but it is dedicated to one phone . The parrot would be ideal but in london I give it a day if that. So will be heading for the Parrot for the van only. Thanks for all your help
michele
Dear David, Thankyou for all your help can you help me a little futher . If I install the Parrot in the volvo. Is it possible to install low down so cannot be seen ..or would that make it so rediculos that I wouldnot be able to use or see ?......probably silly question. Dave Newell
Ideally you need to be able to see and reach the Parrot display unit to enable calls to be made/received while mobile. Whether or not there is anywhere you can mount the display unit in a useable position without it being too obvious from outside the vehicle I can't tell you as I'm not au fait with the Volvo layout. D. P.S. if you promise to call me Dave(not David) I'll call you Michele (not Michelle), deal?

Dave Newell
Michele, Pretty much the same solution as myself. I have the Nikai cd radio unit with bluetooth in the work van but when we're in the motorhome my wife can answer the phone for me. D.
