crbtaylor Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Hi all. We are collecting our new Auto Trail Delaware next week from a south wales dealer. As we are from Derby we would like to stay local to the dealer for a couple of nights in case we have any snags. Thinking of staying on the Gower. Can anyone suggest a site with good easy access to a beach or near a cycle trail in that area. Thanks
Gwendolyn Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Carreglwyd Campsite – right on the beach at Port Eynon… and…. …. Bank Farm at Horton – other end of the bay from Port Eynon. [A lovely beach, spent many of my childhood days - when not at school - on the beach at Horton.] Three Cliffs Bay – on the cliffs above this spectacular beach. Hillend Camping, Llangennith – right at the end of Gower. I am not necessarily recommending any of these as it is really a long time since I stayed at any of them – we now live in West Wales and our daughter lives in Swansea – so have no need. If you want guaranteed facilities - and lots of 'rules' - there is a Caravan Club Site at Gowerton, with easy access to North Gower – no real ‘beaches’ there though. In the area, NOT on Gower, but a really lovely site, is one near Pontarddulais – River View Touring Park. [NB Do NOT confuse this with Riverside, just off the motorway at Ynysforgan.] They all have websites. Cheers Gwen
