auntyjanet1
hi, Off to France early June en route to La Rochelle and further down the west coast ,but enroute have discovered that there is a tall ships regatta in Rouen 6/16June, has anyone been to this event and where did you stay? The nearest site we can find is at Caudbec-en-caux which is on the banks of the Seine but about 25 miles by road from Rouen, so we can either get a bus if available or take our van to a parking place and cycle the rest of the way . Is there a nearer site/aire ,any suggestions?I will be grateful for advice or help ,Thanks :-)

I may well pop in for a day. Camp'Eure Quai Maréchal Foch 27340 Pont-de-l'Arche, France 02 35 23 06
sambukashot
There is a couple of places on my map for Rouen might be worth a look: http://www.camperstops.co.uk/index.php/en/component/search_gmapfp/1112?Country=386:France&County=-All-&City=-All-&Categorie=-All-&Order=Category&Modid=162-Search-Map&Itemid=1112Then just zoom in to Rouen :)
Mike B.
There's an aire at Cleres which is very nice and handy for Rouen. Cleres is nice village too with chateau and zoo/bird garden inside. Aire is near Sports centre and has electricity included-was free when we used it last but think there is a small charge now Mike
Derek Uzzell
For the aire at CLÈRES the campingcar-infos website quotes a charge of €4 for water or 6 hours of electricity. Parking is said to be free. Closer to Rouen is an aire at Montville http://www.normandie-tourisme.fr/Aire-de-service-Montville/HPA/MONTVILLE/fiche-HPANOR076FS0003R-1.html http://www.i-campingcar.fr/aire.php?ville=MONTVILLE http://www.aire-service-camping-car-panoramique.fr/seine-maritime/76-montville This looks good based on campingcar-infos 2011 comments http://www.campingcar-infos.com/Francais/airepda.php?numid=887&Localit%E9=MONTVILLE It's stating the obvious but, during the Armada period, it should be expected that aires (and campsites) near Rouen will be heavily frequented. I may well pop in for a day. Stayed there last year Jeremy; really liked the town, and the site was good, could have spent more than an overnight there. I've been wanting to get into Rouen from a site outside the city, ever since our first trip. I hadn't appreciated how close this site was. Will be interested in any feedback after your trip. Enjoy the tall ships, alan b

auntyjanet1
Many thanks to Jeremy,Sambukashot and Derek for all the info and help Have sent e-mail to CampEure at Pont del Arche as there is transport near to travel to Rouen, hopeful they will have space for 3 days ,other campsites want 7 days minimum stay during the Armada period. Failing this we will travel via the AIres at Cleres,Montville and on to the free parking at Quai-Saint -Sever ,which is on the banks of the Seine in the middle of Rouen, but i think this maybe occupied by the Armada. thanks again for all your help :-)
