crbtaylor
Cant figure this out, but rougly speaking how much power is taken out of a 12v 110ah battery if a load of 1kw is on a mains inverter. Just a rough idea how much a microwave will draw off? suffering from brain dead syndrome at the moment!
lennyhb
Allowing for inverter efficiency of 90% approx 90 amps so if you run it for 15 min it would take 22.5 amp hours. A small 600watt microwave would take 12.5 -amp hours per 15 min use but the start up power is about twice the ratted the rated power, inverter microwave are a bit better start up power is only a third more. A 1 kw inverter is not big enough to run the smallest microwave the start up current will either shut it down or blow it up, need to be looking at, at least 2 kw. sambukashot
This will flatten your battery in no time at all, few minutes? Roughly speaking will that do..
