antony1969 Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Coming back from lead removal duties this morning I felt an intense heat on my body the likes if which I have never experienced , almost enough to take off one of my coats . Searching for the source I gazed towards the sky where my eyes were burnt as I caught site of a large orange ball , brighter than any of the local mosque gold dome tops . Alas before I could reach for my camera it had gone , later someone said its something called the sun , anyone else seen it ?

How about one on "how you made your first million" :D..............or something more philosophical ............... "when wanting more becomes greed" ;-) I think that the really greedy people are the ones who give up and claim that their intention for the rest of their lives is to do nothing and pay no income tax. If everyone was as selfish and greedy society would be in a poor state and those who really deserve help would suffer. I get great satisfaction in knowing that I've created jobs and still contribute to society and pay lots of income tax. Of course there are those who claim that they are becoming lazy slobs out of choice when we all know that it's because they have no skills, are unemployable and may have tried working for themselves only to be a miserable failure at that as well. You often find that such people, envious of those who have succeeded, spend the rest of their time sniping at all the others who are better off than them and trying to persuade everyone that successful people are only motivated by money, when most of us know that successful people are mainly motivated by a drive that you either have or you haven't. Money is secondary. I really don't mind thick people who can't even make a success of a tiny little business. I do however find their weak excuses as to why they now feel that earning money is some kind of sin a little disingenuous. I also suspect that they'd give their right hand to be successful and no longer have the constant worry about money and the nagging doubt that must always be in their minds about how they'll manage in old age. It's very sad really and I genuinely feel sorry for them. Nothing beats being financially secure and in a job that you enjoy, are good at, and does good for people and society at large. Life is wonderful for those of us in this happy position!

Bankers and MPs don't need funding. They earn lots of money and pay lots of tax. The top 1% of earners pay 26% of all income tax. And where have I ever said that I prefer to fund the feckless and workshy? Unfortunately I can't separate out the small number of the undeserving from the genuinely deserving so I'm happy to pay taxes. I'm happy to continue funding the genuinely needy, the armed forces, the NHS, the police and fire service and all the institutions that are necessary in a civilised society. You on the other hand actually boast about paying no tax and openly claim that your intention is to do as little work as possible. And you go on about the feckless and the workshy! You really couldn't make it up! You are years off pensionable age but you've given up! But what is really unpleasant about you is your constant denigration of anyone who is more successful, better educated and works harder than you. You constantly bore us with your claim that your idleness is a lifestyle choice and that you choose to wander Europe in a 25-year-old motorhome out of choice. You fool no one. You are dishonest, your lifestyle has been forced on you because of your inadequacies and failure and now you seek to convince us that you're some happy-go-lucky gypsy living a romantic existence. What you are is a man who, deep down, is probably very worried about what the long-term future holds for him. But don't worry, when the money runs out and the motorhome finally disintegrates I and the other people that you appear to despise will have ensured that there is enough money in the kitty for your pension, your old-folks flat and your health care.

And I was talking about bankers and MPs, which you mentioned, not banks. Apart from which if you knew about the massive contribution to the tax pool that's been generated by the UK financial sector over the last few decades you'd know that the bail-out money is small beer set against that. London is the world's biggest financial centre and generates massive wealth for the country. Anyway, as I said, I'm unable to separate-out money for the deserving or undeserving so I content myself with knowing that my income tax goes mainly to the things that I mentioned, the deserving and the U.K's infrastructure. You on the other hand................................ Anyway, I have no intention of going off on another tangent so I will say no more to you about who or what is deserving of our support.

You still don't get it do you? Some people enjoy working. They enjoy creating something, they enjoy the challenge and the variety and if financial security comes along as well that's a bonus. Why did you set up your business, to give to charity? No, you set it up to make money and now that it isn't doing you give us all this guff about how money doesn't interest you. At 55 I went on to three days a week as I was secure, I'd a good team and I wanted to travel more. I take long holidays and on Sunday I'm away for five weeks in Europe. But I still work and contribute. Your days seem to be some kind of aimless existence, posting on here twenty times a day. That must be very rewarding! And as for hiding behind a keyboard I have no intention of doing a Gerald Ratner and my private life is private. However, just to shut you up I am quite happy to give my company's details to someone I can trust who can then tell you that I have a successful business with a seven-figure balance sheet. And I grew up on a council estate and did it all from nothing. Knight of the Road will know my company and when I get in tonight (I'm going out for a couple of hours) I shall be happy to PM him and tell him who I am. He won't tell you but he will tell you that I am being truthful, unlike you with your lifestyle choice b*ll*ocks, which fools no one. I look down on no one. Not everyone can be an entrepreneur or have a high IQ but what is unpleasant about you is your constant sniping and denigration of anyone who is successful. antony1969 Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 For someone so content in professional and personal life it's strange to have a name like Had Enough . Personally I think Daves plans for selling up and touring around are brilliant , we had a little taste of that life ourselves and when the times right we hope to do the same again . We met a lot of people without a care in the world , what can be wrong with that ? If Had Enough feels he needs to be on a one man mission to fund the needy through his income tax , sad . Dave I think more folk would be envious of a care free lifestyle you are hoping for than Had Enough's happiness cuddling up to his bank statements .

Guess what we all pay toward the upkeep of the country by secondary taxes ie VAT and excise duty. I retired 6 years ago and used my ancient motorhome as it was supposed to be used travelling. I owe nowt to anyone and survive quite well on 50% of my working income. I feel sorry for hadenough as he seems to have no life outside work and boasting of his wealth? Then again he may be just another keyboard cowboy. John *-) (just in case it interests anyone I'm doing a motorcycle track eve on the 20th at snetterton all are welcome to see me make a prat of myself I call it fun.
