antony1969 Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Congratulations Dave , remember to thank Had Enough as he almost single handed through his income tax takes care of our pensions bill , big it up to HE init B .
Guest Had Enough Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 That's weird, I thought you said you'd been a high earner? My state pension is £269 a week. I won't tell you what my private pension is, that would really upset you! And then there's all the lovely quarterly dividends from the business. Better not mention the wife's state pension and her £17k teacher's pension. Bugger, I just have! ;-) Oh, and the rental income from the properties! :-) See what you get if you work hard! And when you really enjoy your work it's a huge bonus. I won't be forced to sell my house so I can have a few months' holiday! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
Guest 1footinthegrave Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 OOOO, we are all so envious, let's hope you have a long life to enjoy it all, and enjoy the things we all do with our motorhomes, emptying a cassette full of s**t everyday, at least that's a bit of a leveler :D And all that money no doubt makes you the lovely soul you are, not bitter and twisted like me.. :D

And it's true, you are bitter and twisted! Everyone knows that! ;-)

Never had any complaints! And I'm a tiddler compared to the ones you mention. Just a small businessman, like you, who's never been afraid of hard work! One day you'll be in a similar position I've no doubt. Work hard, save sensibly and enjoy a happy retirement. But I suspect that you know that really! ;-)

But I suspect that you know that really! ;-) Sorry HE but being a mere whippersnapper at 55, its only a private pension that I stopped paying into 15 years ago ;-).........but come September I hit pay dirt, as her in doors gets her state pension, so with her 10 years of civil service pension, we'll have £800 of unearned income a month B-)..............and in 5 years time I'll get my Navy pension.......then in 11 years time I'll get state pension which on current forecasts will give us all together £400 a week in today's money 8-)................don't know what we'll do with all that dosh........as we get by comfortably on halve that much at the moment :-S...... So you can see why I'm retiring ;-)...................as I know when I Have Enough :D
Guest 1footinthegrave Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 All this talk of retirement, and provision of, reminds me of my late brother-in-law. Had it all planned out, took early retirement at 60, after working for the same company from leaving school, second home in the sun, a brand new car to take advantage of the employees discount scheme, had a wonderful going away party, came home and dropped down dead in the bathroom after taking a shower. Fire brigade had to be called because he fell down behind the bathroom door and my sister and a neighbour could not shift it. I never once heard him gloat about his plans or financial position though, so perhaps some on here should think on and not tempt fate...........or on second thoughts, why not. :D RIP Ken Jones 1932 -1992

Guest Had Enough Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Had my annual check-up last week. Got the results a couple of days ago. PSA level zilch, blood pressure a bit lower than average, cholesterol about 3 but I can get that down without a problem. No family history of heart attacks, dementia etc. so although one never knows what's around the corner one can still take sensible precautions. I'm very phlegmatic about death. I've had a wonderful life, a long and happy marriage and a daughter who has been nothing but a joy all of her life. I now have lots of holidays, am free from any real worries and I do my bit for society by paying taxes and contributing to charity, as well as helping one out. So if I got cancer tomorrow I'm the sort of person who'd count his blessing for a happy life, put my affairs in order and end my years with some dignity. But thank you for your thoughts and concerns anyway! I can't stop and chat as we're going to my daughter's for tea so I hope that you don't miss me too much. ;-)
nowtelse2do Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Congratulations...............can we now officially call you an old scrounger, or do we still do it behind your back :D Dave

Guest Had Enough Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Rearrange the following words into a well know phrase or saying! Pot, kettle, calling, black, the. I know this may be a mental challenge for you but do your best. Goodbye for now! Ps I'll be happy to pay your taxes. I've always believed that the higher earners should be prepared to help out the under-privileged, although I'm not sure if you come under the feckless banner. Now those I'm not happy about supporting, but I'll grit my teeth!

But hey I don't see anyone around here jumping on your bandwagon ;-).......... PS......Still not had that pm from Malcolm KOTHR about you being such a pillar of the local society.........though why your so secretive about your wonderful business is a mystery :-S
Guest 1footinthegrave Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 HE..... I was never any good at cryptic clues..........if that's one. :D Lets hope my son-in-laws fire tender never hits you as it did some poor buggers, that did not live to tell the tale, you never know quite literally what's round the next corner He's the one that just ended up in a nice field. >:-) they ended up under one. :-(

Although I do like to think I'm just getting back some of what I have paid in......and the taxpayer can help out with the remaining years...........ain't life grand :-)
Guest pelmetman Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Had Enough - 2013-05-15 3:20 PM I won't be forced to sell my house so I can have a few months' holiday! Nor will I ;-) ...................Just so you have the facts, we are selling up as we want to spend a few years traveling, and when we moved here to semi retire we knew we'd have to sell, as my better half cant/wont drive *-).......so it makes sense for us to sell.............as we'll need to move anyway ;-) I guess I could've carried on working, but unlike your good self, I gained nothing by having more money.........indeed it made me arrogant 8-)............as you start to feel superior to other people 8-)...........and I'd noticed the same arrogance amongst other so called entrepreneurs, when my accountant started to invite me to nitworking sessions...... once my income had risen enough for her to notice *-)............my accountant had set up business about the same time as me, and I was one of her first customers..........now days when I drop my books off I see pictures in the entrance hall of her shaking hands with Maggie........and I'm no longer invited to nitworking sessions (lol) (lol) (lol) I dont watch the apprentice, but just watching the trailers makes me cringe, as I can see how I might of turned out...............does the world need another HE So I guess your right Roger..........I have given up B-)................but to be frank I think I'm a much richer person for it ;-) 8-) :D

Tracker Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 HE's business must surely be in the supply of bulls**t as he does it so well it almost sounds sincere at times - almost, but not quite as he forgets one thing - never try and bulls**t other bulls**tters - a even mere amateurs like wot most of us on here are! There is huge demand for the stuff from all all walks of life as is evident from some of the postings on here and of course the principal customers being all the political parties, public 'service' employees, alleged 'professional' workers, company directors, et al, all trying so hard to justify screwing the country and it's population - and al is probably one of the biggest offenders - no offense meant al - honest!
Guest Had Enough Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 pelmetman - 2013-05-15 5:39 PM PS......Still not had that pm from Malcolm KOTHR about you being such a pillar of the local society.........though why your so secretive about your wonderful business is a mystery :-S I sent KOTR a PM when I said I would, telling him who I am and what the business is. He hasn't been on the forum since. When he does come back, which I hope he will, I've no doubt he will confirm to you what I've told him, as I've given him proof. I have told you why I do not want my business broadcast. I have staff, a partner and I've no intention of my private views being associated with my firm. It's not my fault if you're not clever enough to work out why I take this attitude. CliveH doesn't tell us the name of his firm and I'm sure it's for the same reason as mine but I don't see you demanding to know exactly what his firm is, where it's located and who works there. That's his private business and he's entitled to keep it so. You have a failing one man band, who gives a toss who knows what you do. It won't be around in six months anyway. Finally, if KOTR doesn't return, as he has been quite poorly I believe, I'm very happy to choose another forum member whom I can trust if you still want convincing.
Guest 1footinthegrave Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I'm really astonished you don't want your views associated with your business, I'll give you one thing, you're savvy enough to know you would soon have no business, staff. or colleagues, and everyone else in your locality crossing over the road to avoid you. ;-) Maybe I've twigged it, these forums are a vent for your frustrations with your real life, a therapy that allows you to spout of your antagonistic language and attitudes, could hardly do that in your office eh. >:-)
Guest Had Enough Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 1footinthegrave - 2013-05-15 11:11 PM I'm really astonished you don't want your views associated with your business, I'll give you one thing, you're savvy enough to know you would soon have no business, staff. or colleagues, and everyone else in your locality crossing over the road to avoid you. ;-) Maybe I've twigged it, these forums are a vent for your frustrations with your real life, a therapy that allows you to spout of your antagonistic language and attitudes, could hardly do that in your office eh. >:-) Another one not bright enough to understand why any sensible person would wish his business to be kept separate from his political views. Not all my customers will be of the same persuasion as me and I'm not stupid enough to rile them! Let's face it, if you had a business you'd have no customers apart from those in the BNP! But I just love your accusation of antagonistic language! Now coming from the nastiest person on this forum that's pretty rich. You really are a daft old chap aren't you! And as for frustrations in real life, I don't have any. You on the other hand seem angry about everything, from your country to how to park at Dover! You are, without a doubt, the biggest whinger on this entire forum and we all know that! Just look at the Dover thread as an example. Person after person has a go at you about your moaning negativity but still you go on, and on and on! How many more threads have to be pulled until you and mutt and jeff understand that you go too far every time? What a plonker! *-)
