Increase hot water capacity

We have an older van and can have gas and electric heater on at same time, both have their own thermostat. We never run out of hot water but we shower the same way others indicate to save water.

When off site, as usual, we use the inverter for electric heater.

Don't know how new vans are wired but could you rewire your mains heating element to do the same?

Did I read that right.........when not on EHU, you use an inverter to power an electric heater of your water from your 12 volt supply rather than using gas?

Doesn't that suck a utterly massive amount of juice from your leisure batteries really quickly ?

Possibly miss-understood. When we want to heat water quickly we use gas and electric, when not on EHU we use the inverter and gas.

Two 110amp, 100w Solar, and Stirling B2B charger.

Seems to work for us.
