Derek Uzzell
It might be helpful to know what adhesive you've used unsuccessfully in the past, as there's little point recommending a product you've already tried and found wanting. SIKA produces a number of adhesives specifically for complete windscreen replacement, but the rubber at the base of your 2008 Autocruise Starspirit's windscreen will just be a 'trim'. This SIKA product http://www.rust.co.uk/products/product/505823/1096-sikalastomer-710-butyl-rubber-classic-windscreen-adhesive/ should do the job, though I would have thought any black polyurethane adhesive/sealant (eg. SIKAFLEX-221) should also be effective. The main thing is to ensure that both surfaces being joined - in this case the bodywork and the rubber seal - are clean and dry before the adhesive is applied. motorcampman
Hi derek I tried bostik and a silicone sealant with no suckcess. I no longer have the starspirit I now have a new Autosleeper BROADWAY and the rubber at the bottom of the windscreen is not stuck to the glass in a couple of places.I know this is not going to cause a leak but water will get between rubber and glass and in winter will freeze and expand pushing the rubber away further.I will try a SIKAFLEX product and see if I can get a good result.I dont want to go back to the dealer its to far and inconvienient for what would seem to be a problem easy to solve. I hope . . REGARDS DAVE CLARKE.
Dave Newell
Surely if its a NEW Autosleeper it is under warranty and therefore you should contact your supplying dealer about remedying the non adhered window? Or did I miss something? D.
