Coachman
Our TT is now about 5/6 years old and is giving trouble. It looses signal a lot of the time and I notice the battery runs down fast when not connected to 12v. when it goes blue the sat signal shows zero. A while ago when on TT website they did say the 700 is no longer repairable, I will give them a ring and see what can be done . The 700 has a very good memory and I have down loaded loads of things on it. There is no card. Now whats the latest on sat navs ? the Caravan Club or the CCC one . I read a review on the TT one which the viewer reckons its no good.Would appreciate any comments.
Basil
If you have been happy with the 700 (well known for poor battery performance as are all up to 850) then check out the TT Start 60 in EU or GB Rep of I. Very well priced GB version £125, 6" screen and with a memory expansion slot up to 32Gbyte. No bells or whistles but has everything I have ever used with my TTGo720. No 'Live' services, never had it anyway and wouldn't pay for it anyway so would be useless to me, but you can use the latest TMC attachment for a reasonably comparable service IMO. Derek Uzzell
Replacement batteries are available for TomTom sat-navs (example here: http://tinyurl.com/p7uc48a) and - based on the installation guidance provided - it's fairly straightforward (at least in principle!) to fit them. Whether your 700's tendency to lose satellite signals is battery-related, or due to senility, is anybody's guess, but it might be worth 'investing' £10 in a new battery to see if that does any good. If you could rejuvenate your 700, you should be able to retain the stuff you've downloaded in the past.
