Anyone want to take this opportunity to claim that all Catholics are evil?

On a serious note, when I first read this report I thought it must be a joke. I cannot believe that any civilised human being would go to a football match (or anywhere else, come to that) armed with that lot. Well done the Italian Police.

What if they'd been Muslim football supporters? If they had been, I am willing to bet that this thread would have filled up with comments from the usual suspects. ;-)

Nutters are nutters - and their victims just as dead at the end of the day. And anyone who thinks that the people who tried to smuggle those weapons into the ground were football supporters is as deluded as those who think all Muslims are responsible for terrorism. So not so daft after all, is it?

If you check my post John I said morons who support a certain team , I never said they were supporters of football now did I ?

I say again attempting to link football hooligans with Muslim terrorists is daft !

On the contrary, it highlights the nonsense of tarring all with the same brush. The argument you are using to distinguish between the hooligans and proper football supporters can also be used to distinguish between terrorists and peace-loving Muslims - something that one or two in our midst seem unable to grasp.

I'm afraid you are making the mistake of grouping them all together. Nobody has even attempted to defend the atrocity in Woolwich but why do you assume all Muslims are responsible? If you don't assume that, then what is the point of your comment?

Sorry but I will never leave distortion of the facts alone --and that is what this is all about. As I have said many times, I am just as appalled by the horrific killing in Woolwich as anyone else - but I do not seek to blame all of any particular group for the actions of a few (and I don't care whether we are talking about Muslims or football crowds - the point is the same). To me, the insensitivity lies not with what I have said but in the reaction of some others to it.

.............it lies with you not having the decency to leave well alone for a while!  For someone who has 'championed' the defence of others and shown such compassion and understanding for 'minority' or 'ethnic' groups you disgust me with your lack of sensitivity by posting this despicable argumentative bile when tens of thousands of 'decent' people are still sickened and shocked by this outrage.  Now understand this.......this is not the time or place to promote your multicultural lovey dovey argument.  A young man has been hacked to death on the streets of London and people are sickened by it.............By being so insensitively opportunist in order to stir up more disagreement you Sir are a bloody disgrace.....now PLEASE GIVE IT A REST.

Interesting that you should somehow conclude that the points I raise are somehow disrespectful to Drummer Rigby when everything I have said about the horrific attack on him would point in the other direction. I repeat: there is no justification for that attack and the perpetrators deserve everything they get but it disgusts me that some people (including a small handful on here) should want to use that to vilify millions of innocent people. If you are disgusted by that then, quite frankly, GOOD.

......and if you want something really disgusting to get your teeth into, try the statement this morning by William Hague that he would like to see us arming the rebels in Syria - despite the fact that there is very strong evidence that among their number are Jihadist groups, including Al Qaeda.

Just so there can be no lack of clarity or ambiguity here I am posting this on open forum to let John47 know that I have reported this thread to the administrators.  I have not done this lightly but I feel that as you display such a lack of sensitivity I have no other option.  I have requested that you stop 'pressing' for argument in the Islam/Muslim/Christian arena at this time because sentiments and emotions are running deep over the hacking to death of Lee Rigby.  It is neither helpful or respectful for you to continue in this vein.

I have asked you to desist to no avail.  I will abide by the administrators findings over this matter.

According to the BBC news last night, there were more people protesting about the badger cull yesterday than responded to the EDL/BNP call for anti-Muslim demonstrations. It looks as if most sensible people heeded the call from Drummer Rigby's family not to use his death to stir up hatred. This must be a dreadful time for the family, so their courage, dignity and decency in the face of such an horrific attack are to be applauded. As long as there are people like them around the terrorists and those who seek to exploit the terrorists actions to stir up hate will not win. Today I can truly say I am proud to be British.

I think you will find most of the thousands of people that question " the Muslim " issue have brains and they realise that supporting some yobs marching near to the murder scene is not the answer to anything .

It's called decency , something some members of our society know nothing of .

If that is so then we have indeed made progress because it certainly hasn't always been so. By the way, what is the "Muslim issue"?

I said above that today I was proud to be British. Unfortunately, you have just reminded me of what makes me ashamed of my country sometimes - people who make insinuations and then are not prepared to back them up. I can only assume it is because they have no logical argument. Thank goodness the alternate view has been so prominent in the past few days.

John I don't know you , I'm not your friend or enemy . If my declining your offer makes you ashamed of your country then you are indeed very sad and very shallow .

Chill out put the TV on and try to regain some of your pride by watching England lose to Brazil rather than attempting to carry on with your one man crusade on here .
