Philman
My favourite box sets are Friends, Two and a Half Men and the Big Bang Theory. All can be watched several times and will always bring a smile to your face with the occasional Laugh Out Loud. On a more serious note, the Dirty Harry set is very good, and of course the Godfather Trilogy. Phil.

Guest peter
Morse, Lewis, Endevour, Downton Abbey, Pride and Prejudice, Foyles War, Oliver Twist, The Tudors, Only Fools and Horses. Etc. That's a few for you, there loads more.
Philman
The Big Bang Theory is hilarious, it's probably the funniest series on TV at the moment IMO. It's best watched from the beginning to see how the characters develop, that's why the box set is a very good buy. Phil.
derek pringle
Hi Pampam a brilliant box set we watched in van was "When the Boat Comes In". Obviously a period piece but riveting viewing. Allo Allo is another and finally the Yes Minister series. best of luck derek
antony1969
Stay clear of the DVDs Rich Tracker loaned me , as I found out to my horror Debbie Does Dallas is not a spin off from the 80s tv series .
Pampam
Watched when the boat comes in it drove my family mad EVERY NIGHT listening to the theme tune it was great ,I don't watch tv so I get the sets and if I find em interesting I can't stop till I get to end,it's like midnight and well say ,shall we watch one more? Ah go on then .... I think the sopranos was one of the best things ever . Band of brothers made me cry as soon as the intro music came on . And if they'd shown the Tudors at school I'd have done a lot better in my history exams .pp

teflon2
Best for a laugh and good entertainment Porridge and open all hours I think Allo Allo has already been mentioned . For the very best acting and feel good factor I go for Goodnight Mr Tom there has been nothing as good for years. John B-)
Pampam
The wire was very enthralling did you know both Dominic west (the policeman)and idris alba the drug dealer are English I was amazed they seemed so American Dominic west played Fred west in appropriate adult and was so convincing(he's from Sheffield)

Guest 1footinthegrave
Pampam - 2013-06-02 7:54 PM One foot intgrave if you enjoyed the wire you'll love the sopranos and your good lady will adore "tony" We've watched both series almost back to back, twice now. I just wish we had a Bada Bing club here, we'd both be happy :D We are taking away with us to watch the fist series of The Midwives, having missed it on the TV and I'm told very good, we'll see, off to France on Wednesday so may come in handy of we have a rainy day or two ;-) Must be honest have not found anything yet from HBO or anyone else to touch those two classic series. You'll be surprised no doubt to hear, we sometimes pack our One foot in the grave DVD set.
