old grey mare Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Hi all, can anyone tell me how to change the green main switch on my fridge. I have the new one, old one broke and whilst I have the 'green bit' in my hand the remainder is still in situ. Is this possible to get out? Many thanks (lol)
Derek Uzzell Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 I believe this is the design of switch you've got http://tinyurl.com/luxtpwn I think you just lever (carefully!) the old switch out of the fridge's fascia with a suitable tool (eg. a screwdriver). You'll note from the picture that there are mouldings on the upper and lower surfaces of the switch's plastic body that will hold the switch firmly in place in the fascia.
JohnP Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 It should just lever out using a flat screwdriver behind the top and bottom lip as Derek suggests. Make sure you put the new one in the right way up. Once connected the new switch just pushes in.
