frenchman
Hi all, am going to Dordogne in September via the tunnel. Most directions take you near Paris, which i dont really want to do, but to detour seems to add about 100 miles to journey. any advice? Thanks B-)
Guest pelmetman
A "Frenchman" who doesn't know his way to the Dordogne? :D...............its not surprising as the place is full of Brits ;-)................ But to be sensible..... we always take the road to Rouen :-> .........then Le Mans, Tours and Poitiers.......have a nice trip........... colin
We headed down to Dordogne area couple of weeks back. Calais, Rouen, Chartres, Orleans, Vierzon, Limoges, from here you can head SE to upper dordogne, or SW to lower dordogne, all on toll free roads and easy drive with TomTom guiding. On way back (figure of 8 from Millau) we went Limoges, Poiters, Tours, Versailles, Calais, not so nice a journey, but then other factors where involved, that will be a thread on its own :-S

Rouen is OK, can be a bit slow at times, but easily drivable through. Rgds

Rgds Beware the bridge in the centre is still closed so diversions are in place on north side of the Seine. try to go through on a Sunday as it is easy, during the week could be fun with all the trucks.
