Best time to sell a motorhome

Hi

We are selling our motorhome (Hymer B514 SL 2007) and have a couple of holidays planned. One in August we can't get out of but another in September we could put back until next year possibly. I wondered if anyone had any experience of selling to advise whether we would stand a better chance in September or whether we should continue on holiday and sell in October when we are back. Or perhaps it doesn't really matter and there is not really a "season"?

 

We're obviously going to use MMM and also eBay classifieds to advertise it - any other advice/suggestions welcome, many thanks.

Easter/ early season is tradionaly the best time once you get into high summer July/August slows down as people are more interested in the holidays they have already arrange. Autumn/winter people expect to pay less for a van but if you wait until next year the van's a year older so will fetch even less.

 

Having said that I would put it up for sale when it's convenient for you as it's an expensive item someone looking for a particular van will be more concerned with finding the right van than buying at a certain time of year.

Hi, i used to import and sell older Hymers and it soon became clear that there was no best time. A good well priced motorhome will sell at any time of year.

The others best describes how we bought our van. Once we had done our research at what we wanted we spent not far off a year until we found the van we wanted at the right price. We ended up buying between Christmas and the New Year.

 

I was not bothered about the time of year it was the right van and right price.
