petergriffiths Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 This weekend I noticed a sooty deposit on the vent cover of our heater system .Then when we turned it on we heard a bang from the vent and found the centre of the plastic cover had been blown out! Could you tell me what you think might have caused this :'( :'( :'(
Derek Uzzell Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 This earlier thread relates to a current-model Truma 'combinatiion' heater, but the effect (the intake/exhaust outer cowl being damaged as a result of a 'misfire') sounds similar to what's happened to you. http://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Truma-boiler/29462/ Your Trumatic C-3402 appliance must be at least 10 years old and the "sooty deposit" suggests its gas-burner is not burning cleanly. It may be worth you checking that the inner and outer trunkings of the heater's intake/exhaust are tightly attached at both ends and that there's no rubbish (like spiders' webs) inside the trunkings. Your best bet would be to contact the Truma(UK) technicians for advice. http://www.truma.com/uk/en/home/service-center.php
