The European Commision is taking legal action against Spain after Spanish Hospitals refuse treatment to British holidaymakers carrying a European health insurance card (Ehic) Hundreds of drivers convicted for not updating their driving licence photo ID may have been incorrectly prosecuted says Michael Payce, a Lincolnshire solicitor. He recently won a case by arguing (sounds like someone from Lincolnshire :-D ) that a wrong section of the Road Traffic Act 2010 was used. Points may have been added to your licence and insurance could have been made invalid. He says that if you were affected, see a solicitor, you may have been wrongly convicted. Parking tickets were illegally issued by Newham Council because of a dozen of unauthorised speed cameras over at least a 2 year period, but it refuses to refund fined drivers. They issued 6,840 tickets between 2010-2013 making £350,000. Any outstanding tickets will be canceled but they are refusing to repay anyone who had previously paid. (Sounds right for a London borough) Some local councils are being suspended or barred permanently from receiving car or driver information from the DVLA because of misuse by these councils.
