armstrongpiper
Each year we have some repair to do on 'van components. This year it is the Omnistep. It is a single step drop-down electric operation. A rivet on one of the pivoting support arms has sheared - see photo if I can work out how to post it. What I would like to know is - Have other readers of this Forum had the same problem; is the step repairable? The rivet is fixed at one end and rotates in a bush at the other, and to me looks a rather specialised job to replace this rivet. Cheers, Neil B

armstrongpiper
Thanks - that's very helpful. They do have rivet repair kits. I've emailed them for further info. Neil B
Overdrive
Alternatively, not sure where you are based ? I have a step minus motor that is going off to metal re-cycling soon which you are welcome to have. David
armstrongpiper
Overdrive - that is an interesting idea and a generous suggestion. Is changing the motor a simple job do you think? Neil B
armstrongpiper
Overdrive - I've had a look at the link provided by Johnontheroad above, and it does look as the motor change would be simple enough. Also noticed their price for a spare motor - same as a complete assembly from Leisureshopdirect! So, I wil PM you. Ta, Neil B
armstrongpiper
I'm just pushing this back up the list, hoping that Mr Overdrive will see it and reply, as I am keen to accept his offer of the step. Neil B

Overdrive
Have sent PM. Sorry been away from PC this weekend. David
armstrongpiper
David - PM exchanges started - thanks. Judge - Rivetting kit seems to have more parts than I need, looking at the diagram on the above website. I contacted the vendors for info about the kit and what tools would be required, but no reply yet. Neil B
armstrongpiper
Just to update. David has sent photos of his step, but unfortunately it isn't the same model or compatible. A local outfit, Towtal of Stoke on Trent, say they've repaired several units, and can fix mine. So, thanks again David. Neil B
