Mornin' Clay..

I can't really help as far as a sourcing a fibreglass tray is concerned...but if you have trouble finding one, what about looking at just reinforcing the underside of one of the "ebay" replacements ,with some additional layers of *fibreglass matting, prior to fitting?(...even if it were just in the high traffic/vulnerable areas?).

..and also maybe check to see if some addition support/packing would be needed(..in case the tray was "floating" in places...?

(* Not the same this, I know but the lower tambour door track to our bathroom was split(pretty much shattered in places!),so I just removed it, glued it back together and then filled in the cavities in the underside with Isopon glass fibre body filler I had left over in the shed.. and it's now rock solid and far better than it would've been from new...)

Just a thought..... ;-)

Edit:..Another thought...How easy is it to get the shower tray out?...because if getting it out turns into a major job, it may be worth looking down the Speedcoat type/in situ repair route in the long run.... :-S

thanks for that pepe .. the thought of having to buy an e bay unit and reinforcing with glass had crossed my mind and i think it will be the way to go.. the tray itself would be no prob to change .. the only small prob is taking the toilet out first.. have not looked into that but should not be to much trouble maybe i should start a thread on that..

will be interested how you get on and what you do, as we have a split in our shower tray, and filler looks very messy, and tape does not work

There are leisure-vehicle GRP shower trays advertised on e-bay (GOOGLE will retrieve the relevant entries), but I've no idea if any of these would be suitable for your particular motorhome.

There are also companies that offer off-the-shelf replacement trays in GRP, or will make a GRP replacement based on the original broken tray. For example

If you do decide to reinforce the underside of a cheap acrylic replacement tray, you'll need to ensure that the reinforcement material does bond properly to the tray. As pepe63 has advised, it's essential that the replacement be properly supported.

These threads may help with removing the toilet (assuming yours is a Thetford C-200 model)

  • 3 weeks later...
If it is a standard Bessacar shower tray I would recommend fitting something different. I had an early 765 and the shower tray was replaced twice by a dealer under warranty. They made no effort to modify the tray fitting and just replaced it with the same useless item. I got rid of the van after it cracked again at 3 years from new.
