kelly58
Living in South Lincolnshire it used to be a regular sight of Vulcans flying around . The 1st time we went to the Waddinton Air Show in the 1970s we saw a 4 Vulcan Scramble now that was an awesome sight and sound.
JohnP
We occasionally used to get them in after diversion when I worked in ATC at a Master airfield in 1959/60. Saw it at Fairford last year. There are quite a few videos on youtube and also on Pathe news. Also saw "the flying bedstead" from which eventually developed the Harrier
Pampam
You was lucky to see it I was told by an enthusiast that it was its last flight on Sunday ,it often lives here at finingley near where I live was told it was retiring here perhaps they were mistaken apparently it costs too much to run thousands of pounds a week! Symbol Owner
It looks as though is was headed for the Yeovilton Air Show, Clive. BBC 'Points West' has just featured shots of it and other vintage aircraft (a wonderful old 'Swordfish' bi-plane for example) along with the 'Red Arrows' display team, at the show, this last weekend. Cheers, Colin.
CliveH
Yes that would make sense. I do hope they keep it flying - the noise is incredible. A kind of deep rumble with a crackle behind it. Concorde was similar.
