KeithCompeta
I am based in Southern Spain, so unable to access all the usual motorhome reupholsterers in the UK. A local upholsterer is going to recover all the seats in my Hymer B584 and we need to get the 3 captains chairs out and then remove the arms and covers. Any one done this and have any good tips? yeti
My last Hymer 544 was re-upholstered before I sold it. I bought the material from the Bankrupt Shop, there are branches in Spain.http://www.thebankruptshop.com/index.htm Spainish Stores > Madrid (Between Plaza Mayor & Porta Sol) > Madrid (Calle Bolsa 10) > Malaga (Poligono Industrial Villa Rosa) > Malaga (Poligono Industrial San Rafael) > Mahttp://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/laga (Malaga Centre) The upholsterer did the captains seats and my wife and daughter did the back seats which were a simpler design. The front seats were a lot more complicated,he stripped one to use as a pattern and did a very successful job. He advised me the type of material to buy, He said Hymer used an open weave material which is why it wears quickly.Buying my own meant that I had my own choice of fabric, which was was a rich red herringbone pattern, The recovering is not outside the skills of a competent person. To remove the seats be careful they are damm heavy. Take the single one out first and let him have a look at it,before you remove the two front ones. Good luck
