campbell1092
I've a 1990 fiat ducato, elddis autoquest 270. Been dripping water so went under for a look, had been previously repaired and covered with some kind of tape, took this off and got soaked, it looks more like a sieve than a tank. So trying to source a new or decent condition used tank. Am fairly new to this, only bought her in October
pepe63xnotuse
Cak tanks(..stop laughing! (lol) )do a bewildering array of tanks... http://www.caktanks.co.uk/CAK_Water_Tanks.htm ...I assume it'd involve you dropping yours down and some taking measurements? (..unless they have model specs on record?)
Rayjsj
Agree, CAK are the best people, have more tanks than you could ever imagine, plus all the fittings etc., Ray

campbell1092
Thanks, I got the site up and went and measured. They quote 2 different ones, but both are different sizes to what I appear to have. Will phone when I get a moment. Thanks for your help Campbell
George Collings
When I wanted a larger waste tank, I made one to better fit the available space from marine ply bonded together with glas fibre and epoxy resin. No great carpentry skill involved. Complete with a very large drain tap it cost about £60 for materials. I have the old one in the usual black plastic still, size 670mm long X 310mm wide X 180 deep complete with pipe fittings and drain. I If you want it suggest you PM me. I will be at the Malvern show and it might enjoy the ride on the roof.
747
Try O'Leary's. They buy up surplus stock from discontinued motorhome models and might have something closer to yours. Elddis vans have always been notorious for small fresh water tanks on most models. This means the waste tank will be about the same size. Giving a capacity to a company might be better for them to visualise. A lot of them were about 40 litres capacity.
Dave225
One suggestion until you get it fixed. Open the drain tap and put a bucket underneath. Yes, you need to empty the bucket, but will keep you 'alive' until fixed. Anyway, i am not a fan of waste tanks anyway as leaving water stagnant will always produce smells and bacteria. I noted a brand new Hymer motorhome on site this year, expensive jobbie, and a 2 gallon bucket under the waste outlet.
Derek Uzzell
CAK Tanks will only be able to supply a tank to exactly match Campbell's if Elddis sourced the tank ftted to a 1990 Autoquest 270 from CAK originally. The 2013 CAK catalogue offers (as Campbell says) two alternative tanks said to be suitable for Ducato 1 & 2 models up to 1994 - a 68litre fresh-water tank positioned behind the rear axle, or a 34litre waste-water tank positioned centrally in front of the rear axle. I don't know when CAK tanks started out but, if Elddis were sourcing their tanks from CAK in 1990, the tank used then may no longer be offered. Alternatively, Elddis may have chosen to fit a tank not specifically designed for a Ducato. For example, the waste-water tank on my 1996-built Herald was a CAK product and listed in the CAK catalogue as "035 - MkII VW Small 7gall/32litres". (If anybody wants one of these, he/she is wecome to the good-condition one languishing in my shed. But you'll need to collect it!) It may be that one of the other tanks in the CAK range matches, or is close to, the measurements of the tank on Campbell's motohome but, if not, CAK won't custom-make a tank. There are companies prepared to build a tank to order - for example http://tektankslimited.com/index.asp and it might be worth checking the cost. (I replaced my Herald's waste-water tank with a larger one made to my specification. It wasn't a cheap exercise, though some of the cost was offset by what MMM paid me for the DIY article I wrote about it.) As Campbell's tank "looks like a sieve", attempting a proper repair may not be worthwhile. Nevertheless, it's a possibility that might be worth exploring http://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Hints-and-Tips/Grey-water-tank-repair/27716/
Robinhood
....at around the time of your vehicle build, Amber Plastics were supplying some of the converters with OE tanks. (At least, they told me they had supplied the one on my Auto-Sleeper). If you are struggling to match a particular size/shape, they may be worth a call. http://www.amberplastics.co.uk/Tank+Specialists-s-37-p-Standard+Tanks+and+Containers-d.html
