zeddykay
We love our motorhome holidays and like to park up and use local transport as much as possible. Our favourite area is the French Alps especially the Chamonix valley where bus and train services are excellent and , as a bonus ,free. After 4 successive September trips to Chamonix we would like to try other parts of the Alps, but would like good public transport whilst there. Has anybody any recommendations Thanks in advance
Robinhood
Berchtesgaden in the German Alps has a similar policy of free local transport with a Kurkarte. It is also possible to get to Salzburg for a day out for a nominal sum (since it is just over the border from the free area, but don't expect to stay into the evening, as the timetable doesn't allow it. Plenty to see and do, and a very attractive area.
