EBL99

Recommended Posts

The on-board charger on my EBL99 failed recently. (May 2013).

This was despite there being no thunderstorms around and despite the fact that I have had a so called OVP01 surge protector fitted for over two years now.

The leisure battery was five years old and did drop to 11 volts last March whilst using solely Aires in France.

I have just returned from aandncaravanservices in Mochre near Conwy run by Allan.

He has fitted a refurbished EBL99 to my van and repaired the IT994 control panel for a fraction of the cost quoted elsewhere.

I have no connection with this company, other than to say I am a very satisfied customer.

I can only recommend this knowledgeable gentleman to you, especially if your van has Schaudt electronics on board.

In my opinion, this is well worth a read, http://www.aandncaravanservices.co.uk/schaudt-elektroblock.php

Hi John,

Thanks for the link it would be interesting to see what members think of this on batteries from the same site http://www.aandncaravanservices.co.uk/battery-technology.php

Dave

Not my field, but (in relation to the Exide Surelife Graphite Silver Calcium batteries section) the statement that "A typical SC battery of 85 amp hours is around 14 kilograms compared to 32 Kg for an old school 120 amp LA leisure battery" is wrong.

An 80Ah Exide "Edge" AGM battery (with SureLife Graphite Technology) weighs 24.2kg, while the 90Ah version weighs 27.2kg - they may be lighter, but they ain't that light!!
