Rees
I have had fitted by professionals the above to read the volts in the battery and the amps charge from the solar panel. However, I find the reading a little confusing. When the BM-1 shows a full battery in volts (i.e. 12.6 v) the message indicates 'discharge' but there is no power being taken from the battery. Question: does the BM-1 show discharge when the solar panel regulator ceases to charge a full battery? At other times the BM-s shows 'charge' and the amps being put into the battery. Tracker
How much discharge does it show? Does it show a discharge with the battery and/or the solar panel disconnected? What van is it and with what electronic gizmos that may or may not always be on unless switched off individually? There is always a discharge on modern vans as the control panel and electronics, alarm, memory, etc. all combine to draw a small current of often from 100 milliamps to 300 milliamps all the time even when turned off unless you fit a battery isolating switch. Derek Uzzell
The instructions for this product http://www.nasamarine.com/images/file/BM1_Compact_PDF.pdf suggest that there is a need to set up the unit initially - has this been done?
