Regann
Hi, does anyone know if when using this ferry you can stay in your campervan for the crossing, I know it only takes 15 - 20 minutes but we have a rescued dog that can not be left on her own. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
CliveH
Did the trip years ago so do not remember what we did. You may get a better response from a more "trip" orientated site such as :- http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g207350-i3812-k5416289-Le_Verdon_by_ferry_to_Royan-Royan_Charente_Maritime_Poitou_Charentes.html Love the coastline on the SW of France - when it gets to hot go and sit in amongst the dappled sunlight in the pine trees. Fantastic walks through these trees too! Hope you get on well with your dog. Both ours are "Rescue" - hard work to start with but worth it! :-D
malc d
We've crossed on that several times in the past - first on the old ' side loading ' vessels, and later on the standard drive through type - and everyone left their vehicles and went up on deck - but - I don't know if it was compulsory - I think most did it just for the view. Good area for beaches and the pine forests - with many cycle paths through them.
