teflon2
This is a serious enquiry I hope it will be accepted as such. My wife Pauline was asked to be godmother to her best friends 1st son Paul. She took her duties seriously as he grew up. When he was 40 plus he visited Egypt and met a beautiful young lady but she was Moslem, in order to marry her he converted to Islam now is my wife still his godmother or does Islam not accept god parents. Guest 1footinthegrave
Find a local Mosque and ask them would seem to be the obvious answer, apart from John47 I doubt there are many folk on here up to speed with the teachings and rules of Islam :-S
CliveH
Agree with 1foot - have a chat with someone from a local Mosque. I am sure they will be able to help.
antony1969
Sorry can't help you with that problem John . Seems the tolerant religion doesn't tolerate incomers .
teflon2
Thanks for the advice I suppose it's common sense really. Where I live we don't have a mosque the nearest I think would be Cambridge or Ipswich either of which are about 30 miles away. Think I'll just let it rest. nowtelse2do
I would think that after 40yrs your wife's duties have been done John, so wouldn't worry about it, after all a godmother stepped in if something happened to the natural mother and the child needed rearing or motherly guidence. In olden days the godmother was usually the sister, sister-in-law or aunt who took the duties on and in a lot of cases if the sister was single she was expected to marry her brother-in-law if her sister had died and left children.
