Sliding window problem

Recommended Posts

The rear sliding window on my Adria is impossible to open fully due to the bottom channel lining having rouched up during a slide.

Can anyone tell me how to remove the window to change the sliding channel?

Window is closed now and hopefully weather proof, got the gaffer tape ready in case.

Thanks Keith, didn't know that, can you also delete a post, I cannot see a delete link?

Only the Moderator can delete postings.

Duplication/triplication (etc.) of postings is fairly common on this forum, particularly when system-response to postings is slow and people become impatient with their typing-finger. Realistically, the best you can do is what you did and 'wipe' any duplicates within the 30 minutes editing period. Once the 30 minute period of grace has expired duplicated postings are set in stone.

I believe you own an Adria Izola S687 SP (I don't think you've said what year it is) as shown in this photo

The rear sliding-window looks like it might be a Dometic/Seitz product, but you should be able to confirm this as there should be a maker's mark somewhere on its double-glazed plastic panes. If you can identify your window's manufacturer you may be able to find out how to remove the panes so that the bottom channel can be replaced.

These companies market Dometic/Seitz S4 sliding windows so (if your window is a Seitz one) may be able to advise you regarding repairs and obtaining spares:

It may be that you cannot remove the sliding panes - when we had our motorhome windows broken a few years ago although the frame was fine it wasn't possible to remove the panes as it was a factory 'sealed' unit so the whole window needed changing, fortunately the insurance paid!
