This might be of help.

I have just had 2 tyres replaced in France - Conti Vanco camper 215/70 R 15 CP.

Price seemed better value than in the UK at € 118 per tyre + € 15 fitting / balancing.

allopneu.fr to order the tyres online, delivered in 48 hours to a local garage for fitting in the Dordogne.

Availability was also good, from stock in a number of places.

Anyone know how much these would have cost in the UK ?

Cheers.

I would have thought it shouldn't be too difficult in the UK to match the price you paid in France. For example, this on-line advert http://tinyurl.com/qek4vva quotes a price of £97.30 (€114 approx) for a single tyre, on to which P&P and fitting/balancing charges would need to be added of course.(Presumably the Dordogne garage that fitted your new tyres made sure that the tyre-valve used was the appropriate type?)

Just bought four tyres for $305 au each. It seems that uk prices are finally lower for something!

Although pricey they are Continentals, better safe than in the ditch. A certain make of Chinese tyre was terrifying, unsure if the ditch or the opposite flow was your destination, did I say Federal? No names no pack drill. Tyres aren't the thing to save the last penny on.
