Cavvy
Greetings, we have had Swift Voyager 630 EK 4 months now and last week when awning/canopy was to be lowered the collapsible awning handle sheared, Janet borrowed one from another motor homer which had a fixed handle. Ours is NO longer any use. Does anyone know best place to purchase a new one? Preferably a fixed handle type. Advice: Keep Smiling. (>)
Mel B
You don't necessarily have to have a Fiamma handle: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/roller-shutter-or-awning-winding-crank-handle-/221281971882?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item33856eeeaa http://www.primrose-awnings.co.uk/awning-winder-handle-p-1930.html?source=googleads&gclid=CODDspLs1bkCFY_KtAodkn8AQw http://www.fiammastore.com/Fiamma-Accessories-for-Zip-F45-F65/Fiamma-Crank-Handle We actually have a Fiamma F65 awning but bought it from a local company (O'Learys) who had got it along with a load of other stock from a dealer ship which had closed down and they supplied it with an Omnistor awning crank handle which is more robust than the Fiamma offerings. Brambles
http://www.agentfiamma.co.uk/fiamma-awning-crank-handles.html There are other online places. Put Fiamma winding handle into google search and you will find a list of a few suppliers. Also most caravan/motorhome accessory shops at dealers will have them. You wil need to choose what length you want. If you go for long one you can shorten them.
Brambles
Mel, I thought Omnistor used a different arangement for the coupling and had a sort of T bar at the end not a hook But what do I know...maybe I am out of date.

You may be right, I just believed it was an Omnistor one as that's what we were told when we got the Fiamma awning ... having never 'used' an Omnistor awning I had no reason to doubt the chap especially since it is much more sturdy than the Fiamma ones we'd had previously ... perhaps he got his 'awnings' mixed up as he wasn't one of the 'regulars' there. *-)
Brambles
Cavvy, "we have had Swift Voyager 630 EK 4 months now and last week ...." If this is 4 months from new then the dealer should replace your winding handle under warranty Mel, As I suggested, I could be wrong as well about the omnistor. sshortcircuit
I broke mine when new and I put it down to using incorrectly, so hardly a claim from dealer. Repaired mine which was quite easy to do if you have DIY skills. Worth visiting a local metal work shop or similar to see if it can be repaired. Cavvy
NO, the motorhome is 3 years old, had been used well but when used 10 days ago or so it sheared by the hinge which manoeuvres the handle into position. Thanks for all messages, have looked on websites and am going to NEC in October so will look around then. :-D NO matter what life throws at you keep smiling.
