crbtaylor
We left the uk with 2x11kg of calor for an extended tour of Spain and Portugal. We underestimated our usage so decided to buy a Repsol bottle in Spain with a Jumbo pigtail. This is easily exchanged in Spain or Portugal as needed. We got our empty calor bottled refilled in Portugal so always have a backup. On returning to the UK we will get a refillable bottle fitted and carry the repsol as a backup on our continental journeys and the calor as a backup on the UK trips. I hope this will give us the flexibility when need .
Derek Uzzell
JudgeMental - 2014-01-31 3:11 PM but we travel wide and only go to spain for 6 weeks max. one refillable will be enough and can add another later if need be. but i like the external bbq as well as filler point so thats a must. A shame as those safefill do appeal, maybe they will catch on eventually Safefill containers might catch on in the UK with caravanners or boat owners, or UK people who do a lot of home barbecuing, or builders who use a lot of propane, but the asking-price is too high for motorhome applications for a bottle that needs to be disconnected to be refilled. My MTHA composite bottle needs to be disconnected to be refilled. It lacks the Safefill bottle's safety features, so needs some care when refilling. I MIGHT consider replacing it with a Safefill bottle (as it's useful to be able to visually confirm the LPG contents level) but not when the Safefill product costs £180 including specialised Continental filling adapters. At £80 maybe: at £180 no chance.
Guest JudgeMental
Yep I agree safefill are way to expensive, no wonder not catching on.

They show a Safefill 20Lt at £149 and a Gaslow price of £600 (no spec given). Comparing like for like a Safefill 20Lt at £149 an equivalent single 11Kg (22lt )Gaslow is £114. Where did they get that figure from, as the price I found was £243.45 which no doubt you can get cheaper by shopping around?
