Ipetchey
We have a small split (1" long) in our Maxview satellite dome lid and are wondering how best to repair it, since a replacement cover is £159.43. Glue? Glue type? Patch? At the moment The split is covered with duct tape, both inside and out. The duct take seems to work ok for a few weeks, then drys up and starts coming off. I guess the internal components would be better dry and I am worried the split might get worse. (We hit a low branch whilst driving into a caravan club site). Any suggestions appreciated
Guest peter
If it's made of plastic, stick some epoxy putty on the inside for strength and run a soldering iron over the split on the outside. This is supposing that it is not an open split, if it is open I would laminate the inside with resin and glass tissue or tape. Epoxy putty is available in a stick you cut and knead the two parts together to get a good mix then push into place.
Ipetchey
Thanks peter. It is made of plastic. Epoxy putty stick sounds good. I will give it a go.
