PJay Posted September 23, 2013 Share Posted September 23, 2013 Any one know of a good overnight stop , about 2 hours drive from Ferry? Going to med coast from Caen ferry on Thursday. Would like to stop about 2 hours on. Probably taking the route through Le Mans. Did think of staying there, but after the report on here, wondered if any one knows of a nice place to rest for the night, prior to driving a much longer route on Friday. If you are prepared to go beyond Le Mans, you could try this aire that is fairly close to the A28. http://www.aire-service-camping-car-panoramique.fr/sarthe/72-laigne-en-belin or, if there's a serious delay, this one much closer to Caen: http://www.aire-service-camping-car-panoramique.fr/calvados/14-grainville-langannerie Personally, I'd probably aim for the aire at Saint-Jean-sur-Mayenne near Laval http://www.aire-service-camping-car-panoramique.fr/mayenne/53-saint-jean-sur-mayenne as I know it should be quiet and I'm very familiar with how to get there - but it's well off your Le Mans route preference. But have noted the replies, for the return journey. we like municipal sites, good value and close to village/town.
