I have also made a Copy of the logbook, V 5 whatever, which i will keep in the van (in the safe). For future referance or Requirement, as we are contemplating actually crossing the channel next spring, and I believe a copy of your V5 document is required, along with flourecsant vests,warning triangle, spare bulbs etc., .

 

A copy is not acceptable when across the water you have to carry the original V5, I always leave mine in the van, it only shows who the vehicle is registered to, it is not proof of ownership.

NO way will I carry the 'Original V5 document' IN the vehicle, no matter where I go. They will have to make do with the copy. Although it is not 'Proof' of ownership, it goes a long way to convince a possible buyer of a 'Stolen' motorhome. Therefore I won't provide them with it. End of.
