Bongonaught Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 We have had several happy years with out trusty(ish) Mazda Bongo but now we're looking to upgrade to something a bit roomier with lower mileage. The Danbury T5 Doubleback looks good but it is eyewateringly expensive. A van with a loo would be nice but we don't want anything too big (we park the van outside our house on the street).Just wondered what veteran campervanners would recommend.....?
Muswell Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 We had the same requirements and upgraded to a Horizons Cavarno 2. Based on SWB Transit just under 5m. Fridge, cooker and toilet/shower cubicle and sleeps 2. The Cavarno 4 sleeps 4.They have stopped making them a short while ago but they are brilliant. Roy Wood http://www.roywoodtransits.co.uk/camper-sales.htm were joint developers of the van and regularly get them in stock secondhand. They are very nice to deal with and give excellent service.
pepe63xnotuse Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Hi.. Although not a direct answer to your question, have you thought about sourcing a tidy base vehicle(of a type and size that suits you)and then looking at getting it converted to a level and spec of your choosing? Personally,I always feel that the "problem" with a lot of the van conversions from the "main" manufacturers, is that they try too hard to be like coach-built MHs.....which in turn are mimicking caravans..... So you end up with a vehicle which, for us, is too far removed from the campervan/camping "feel". Just something to keep in mind...
