kelly58
A couple of weeks ago we were going onto the Aire at Le Bugue in the Dordogne when it was invaded by a convoy of " Travellers " with their white vans and four wheeled Fendt Caravans. Within as many minutes a dozen or so French motorhomers had quit the Aire. Then the fun began firstly the local Police Municipal arrived and started checking ID's then the Gerdarmes arrived and started checking the vehicles , after a short while a guy in a suit turned up in a car , possibly the local Mayor. A lot of heated discussion took place and within the hour of them arriving they had departed and never returned. It just makes you wonder how long it would have taken to evict them from a site in the UK with all our red tape and risk asessments and court orders !!! lennyhb
It can be done over hear but not strictly legal. Earlier in the year my mate went to his business premises on Saturday morning to find a Motorhome parked on the drive outside his office and various other units parked around the estate. A call to the landlords agent they intern called in the bailiffs (polite name for heavy boys), a few hours later they were gone & police turned a blind eye. They were only there a few hours and he still had to get his staff clearing up their crap, it literally was crap they don't use the loo's in their vans.
