RVI46
Hi, I'm hoping someone in my area (West Sussex) can help me find what I'm looking for. We want to l buy a Cadac Safari Chef Deluxe LP but they come without the hose or connectors. We do have a gas barbeque point fitted to the Motorhome. My wife has phoned several places only to be told "they are not allowed to make the gas pipe up" and they don't stock what we are looking for. Any Ideas on where we might be able to get a hose with the fittings? Many thanks, Terry.

Basil
Hi RV146, We have a Cadac and it is only a length of standard butyl rubber hose, as used between gas regulator and fixed pipework on the van. You just need to buy a length of that, they are only supposed to sell it in 1.47metre lengths, two jubilee type clips of the appropriate size and the correct connector for you BBQ point then put the clips on the tube push on to the nozzles of the Cadac and the BBQ connector and tighten the clips up. Plug in and enjoy one of the best outside cooking tools we have had, so good we don't cook inside at all now if we can avoid it!!
RVI46
Thanks Basil, We've been out this morning looking for the fittings. My sister-in-law gave us the gas pipe they have for their Cadac to show people what we needed. Hers was made up by a friend of a friend, with the ends pressure clamped. The Cadac end is a nut that tightens/screws up. After what you have told me, we'll go a head and order a Cadac. I already have the bit that fits the Motorhome thanks to Oaktree Motors who fitted a BBQ point "part of the deal" Johnsandywhite, thanks, but I must tell you the RV stands for Royal Victoria. When I joined the forum I just thought up something off the cuff. I'd never heard of a Recreational Vehicle, really. I don't suppose I can change my name now that we're the proud owners of a Bessaccar E760 anyway many thanks to you all.
Norma
Terry We have exactly what you are wanting to buy. The Low Pressure Cadac that runs from your poped gas. Our 2 metre length of pipe is permanently fixed to the Cadac with a jubilee clip. The other end is fasted to a spring fitting for the external tap. The hose is the extra strength type - not black but red. All the parts were bought from our local caravan supplier's shop. Good luck
RVI46
Norma, Thanks for your input. Regards, Terry
JohnP
Suggest you shop around they vary from £99.00 to £129.00 Type in Cadac in google and do a UK search. The hose is quite easy to make up. Use jubilee clips at both ends. At the Cadac end there is a brass connection. I leave this and the hose always connected to the barbecue.

Mel B
Hi If you haven't ordered a Cadac yet have a look on eBay, there's a chap selling the new Cadac Eazi Chef Delux BBQ for £89.95 + £6.95 P&P at the moment, it looks a nice piece of kit ... he's got 24 of them!!! RVI46
Hi Mel B, Yesterday my wife ordered a Safari Chef Deluxe LP from Towsure; £65 +£5 postage. That Cadac on E-bay you pointed out looks a real bargain they retail about £130, unfortunately my wife found that bigger one too heavy to handle, as we had looked at the Cadacs when we were at the Lincoln Showground and as we hadn't bought our Mobilehome untill that weekend, we just looked around and enjoyed the atmosphere taking note of things to buy in the future. Thanks for everyone's input.
Guest peter
We've got the small one like yours and it's now our main cooking tool. absolutely brilliant, it's got a normal barbecue grid and a griddle for getting those lovely black lines on steak, flip the griddle over and do your eggs and bacon, it's also got a wok that doubles as a lid if it's a bit chilly/windy or it can make an oven for small joints, chicken. It all comes in a neat bag that's ideal for carting about in the van. The only critisism I have is that the burner seems to burn with a too yellow flame, maybe it's got a problem as when I bought it it had a small sintered filter jammed in the jet which was too tight and wouldn't let enough gas through to boil an egg, so I pushed it back down the jet a bit and it was better but burns with yellow flame and is very sooty. Anybody else had this problem with this model?. By the way you can get the LPG orange tubing in B&Q any length you want as you cut it yourself, as I bought some yesterday for my boat. We use the 2+ Kgs Camping Gas cylinders as they are easy to carry about and leave the regulator and tube permanently attached to the barbecue and it still goes in the little bag. davebl
Best use the Propane high preasure orange hose its more durable and about 4M of it to get the barbi away from the van. The Cadac end is 1/4 thread, easily available in most caravan shops or Calor. Assuming you have a bayonet type fitting on your Van this is available from colot too but the site needs a good trawl to find it on line. You need tow jubilee or other crimp clips also. davebl
Heres the bayonet end, the 1/4 female is on there somewhere too. http://www.caravanning-online.co.uk/acatalog/misc_fittings.html
