There are a number of possibilities that might cause 'pulsing' and a dirty filter is one of them. If you clean the filter and the pulsing stops, you won't have to look further. If it makes no difference, you'll have to continue to investigate.

The shurflo pump in my van 'Pulsed' from new, I tried adjustment as it said in the book, to no avail. So, I fitted an Accumulator inline :

It solved the problem, but methinks it shouldn't have pulsed in the first place.

It was fine when the tap was turned full on, but half on and the pulsing started.

I take it yours did not pulse originally ? Ray
