Gas sensors

With all the chatter on here re gas joints, I thought it would be timely to check out the bottle to regulator connections. I fitted a guage between the bottle and regulator and then did a drop test with the isolation valve shut. There clearly was a leak. Off to my chum's to borrow an all singing all dancing gas detector. These things cost hundreds. Unfortunately he'd left it in the drawer for six years, and the batteries had burst and wrecked it. So as I'm not a fan of the soapy water system, I looked on Ebay. Gas detector pens in proffusion. Bought one, £9.99. With me in 48hrs. Works a treat. LED's and buzzer. Everyone should have one in the van Did the joint with smear of 'Gas Tite' as suggested on here. Job done. By the way, the guage is a permanent fixture. Bought it at Peterborough show £12. The system is Propane
