JonMac46 Posted November 8, 2013 Share Posted November 8, 2013 I just purchased prepaid Spanish SIM's for my iPhone and iPad for our Winter trip to Spain, we leave in 2 weeks. The provider just told me that Ortel is closing down: "The sim card will no longer work after the 8/12/2013." They offered a refund but then I am faced with the challenge of not having a Spanish address to get them when I arrive. Does anyone know if I could change to another supplier on/after 8/12/2013? JonMac46 Posted November 8, 2013 Author Share Posted November 8, 2013 The iPad SIM is for data only. You have to have a Spanish address to get a SIM [an anti-terrorist law]. The prepaid company I used uploads a copy of your passport and uses that to register you with the authorities. So given I am registered [legally?], can I then switch to another teleco???
