Polaroid TVs at Asda

I noted at Asda last night they had Polaroid 18" LED TV/DVD combos like this sort of thing

and they are all 12v . The 18" one with DVD and freeview inbuilt (not on the Asda website though) was £109 - big difference to an Avtex price if it does the job. It has the standard bracket fitting on the back.

Anyone any thoughts on this set up in a motorhome?

We bought a cheap Tesco 16in combi on line, The DVD broke down on that one and on its replacement, and the viewing angle was hopeless, if you were not directly in front (not possible in our smaller campervan) the picture seemed to be in negative. The also had the same unit (under different name) at Currys, the very knowledgeable (!) (?) salesman said that they were available under different names all over the place.

Since at Currys they were working on view, you could at least see the viewing angle issue, whereas if you buy a sealed box at a supermarket or online, as I did, you cannot. It'd be good to here how good they are, though.

You might want to read this first, yes it's a US site, but it's a bit scary as I'd looked at that brand, or have they been renamed...................come home to a real living fire. :-S

I might add we have a cheapo Cello that we thought was quite good, apart from the viewing angles, that has just packed up, but no smoke first. (!)

Might be worth checking out John Lewis, see what they have got, at least you get a 5 year guarantee.
