I suppose you could always fit one of these door locks but never actually put it in the lock position giving impression someone is in the van. Now there is a novel idea.

The thing with these exterior locks is you are advertising the fact that van unoccupied! We had proper dead locks fitted to our CB. If your doing a job do it properly.....and like you say considering any idiot can pry a window with bare hands, again what's the point,

When I had an office in Camden Town I went out one lunchtime to buy a sandwich on the busy High Street and found some girls whose car had just been broken into. The point is that these robberies only take a short time, there are usually a few people involved and having a go could get you a screwdriver or knife in the stomach.

you also need deadlocks on cab doors (if doing a proper job)

I have the Abus security lock on our habitation door, no bits sticking out for a thief to lever and even if you don't lock it, it acts as a deterrent.

For the opportunist thief keep everything out of sight, for the determined thieves, make it look as difficult as possible so they move onto the next MH. The same as at home really.

I have an alarm, but the two big dogs are probably the best deterrent.
