EMS
We have a whale pump connection on the side of the van but use a 10 litre drinking water container from a camping shop to top the on board tank with the use of a funnel. Tedious but often easier than the flat hose pipe that often seems too short when we are installed on site or at home. The 10 litre water container is used for our drinking/cooking water, it is often decanted into a 2litre milk bottle that is stored in the fridge to have a cooling drink, we only use the on board tank for washing both kitchen things and ourselves. The 10 litre water container may be fitted with a tap but we have not found it necessary for our style of usage.
bolero boy
bolero boy - 2013-12-29 5:47 PM Thanks, Barry.....here's a tip for you. Instead of the funnel (which, as you have found out, requires one hand to steady it while trying to pour.....) we use a plastic 'drain pipe elbow' which, with a little tape wrapped to make the diameter match, and this fits neatly into the water inlet, allowing you two hands to do the lifting/pouring job. Just to add, for those with 'solid' 10ltr plastic containers a funnel may well be ok as the container may be gripped Unser the arm while holding the funnel in place. We have a collapsible container which requires two hands to lift and pour, hence the plastic elbow fitting.
