Any insights much appreciated What do you want to know? Best to ask about what you are not sure about. Apart from driving on the" wrong" side of the road, and having "peage" (Pay toll roads) not a lot different from Uk, except the roads are a LOT emptier Good luck on first sortie across the pond PJay PS you might get more answers on the main threads boards
lennyhb
Just be very careful when driving or turning into roads with no other traffic, it's very easy to drive on the wrong side, a bit of a shock when a car comes around a bend straight at you. Be extra careful in towns where "give way to the right" is still in force they will just drive out of a side road straight in front of you at an alarming speed if it's their right of way they don't bother to look or slow down they expect you to give way. Generally though it's easier than driving over here, far less traffic.
Billggski
The first roundabout is always a strange experience! After that it gets easier, but then you can get over confident and find yourself on the wrong side. Sat navs usually remind you to stay right when you switch them on abroad. ColinB
Many main roads in towns have parallel service roads. Be careful of these at roundabouts they are easy to enter by mistake but can be difficult to get out of. Colin.

Ditto............although a well trained up other half is very useful ;-)...............If you have one........make sure he/she is attentive to their duties :D......... If not invest in extra mirrors and a camera :-|..........

flicka
Hi Ant You may also find it useful until you get some experience, to make up a card showing the Kilometre to Miles conversion, if you have a Fiat where the Km reading on the speedo is not very good. And set the speed display on your sat nav to display km/h.
