New aire at Neufchatel

Just a quick report on the new aire at Neufchatel en Bray in Normandy.

A bit of a tight turn into the site but it's easy to find just lookout for the 3 supermarkets Aldi, Lidl and Leclerc and follow the road to a right hand bend you then just carry on straight approx 200 meters and the site is on your left. You can just follow the camping Ste Claire signs as the aire is next to the campsite.

15 flat marked out pitches with what will be hedges between them when the bushes grow in a few years.

Cannot comment on any views as it was dark when we arrived. The site has water and 10 amp electricity plus Wifi included in the price of 12 euros for 24 hours and this is strictly pointed out on the board just outside the site. The water is on and this is in mid January. No toilet block.

Will try and post photo in the morning. So far nice and quiet with just two other vans parked up for the night.

Yes this is a good aire, as is the owners site adjacent. It opened in March 2013 - we usually stay on the main site and saw that the aire was well used during June / July last year when we stopped on our way out and our return. It is very well appointed and we had a good look around and chatted to a few Brits who were staying on it. We didn't use it as we stop for a couple of days or so and therefore it is more convenient to use the main site on ACSI as you can come and go with your motorhome plus use the facilities. But for an overnight and out of season excellent - you have the benefit of fuelling up at L'eclerc down the road plus shopping at Aldi, Lidl, as well - market is good in the town as well.

(I note that, in the campingcar-infos website entry, there's a negative comment about a technical problem with the credit-card-operated entry/exit system.)

Agree with above comments. We were there end November, just two other French vans then and very quite. All facilities, including WiFi worked without problems are as did entry system and credit card machine for exiting. An excellent aire and typical of many now being developed where yes you pay a little more but facilities and layout make worth it

Had a good nights sleep as area is very quiet and even had the sound of a owl or two.Max van lenght of 8 Meters I think due to the tight entrance. Well set out site so more power to the owners, internet works fine will find out in just a few mins how the payment works but the French couple who left this morning had no problems.

We did a walk along the "Green Lane" that starts right outside the site would be great if you use a bike as its nice and smooth and flat.

Off back home Monday to good old Blighty but can see us back here using this site mainly in the winter.

Have used the adjacent great (ACSI) site many times as we usually stay for a few nights in order to have some good cycle rides. Either direction on the Voie Verte you can go miles and miles passing through or near some lovely interesting villages. We've seen the aire and agree it looks great. Will stay on it if in the area for only one night on way up to or away from Dieppe Ferry. Hazel

Another supporter for the site and the folk who run it (including the new aire), which as everybody who has been knows it's great and excellent value, especially with ACSI. We haven't stopped on the aire yet; it was nearly completed last time we were at Camping St Claire. As others have said, a great strategic location as well as all the benefits in the immediate vicinity.
