Arranman
Having a problem with 15A fuse blowing just after step is energised, and alarm sounding when engine is switched on, and step is retracted. Step come in ok, alarm sounds till step comes in, then all electrics still work in van, fridge won't work on 12V, and 15A fuse the controls the 3 relays in engine compartment is blown. Noticed 4 relays, 3 in engine compartment and 1 for step relay. Have taken step apart, no relay, thinking must be somewhere else? Would any kind buddy be able to advise me where the relay for the omnistep might be located, please. Peter. (?) :-( :-(
Dave Newell
Usually close to the manual switch but in my experience the relay pretty much never is the problem. Usual problems tend to focus around the "step in" switch which is simply a pin switch as used for door switches and bonnet switches. As yours is bloing fuses it sounds like the switch is not opening on step retraction and the motor is continuing to try to retract the step causing an overload. D. T8LEY
Have a look here: http://sargentshop.co.uk/epages/eshop328964.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/eshop328964/Categories/TechData/%22System%20Schematics%22/Auto-Trail My AT is a different model but the step relay is in the EM50 control box, in my case, on the floor behind the drivers seat. Arranman
Autotrail blowing fuses after step came in, ansd stopped fridge working on 12v, was indeed the "step in" switch, just as you suggested. Thanks for that. Peter. :-)
