bondy
Anybody help on fitting a second leisure battery to my motorhome. I can fit it right next to the current leisure battery but dont understand why the connection cant be positive to positve and negative to negative. All instructions seen put positive to positive and negative to earth. This seems like more wiring if the current batteries negative already goes to earth.? Brian Kirby
Not much extra wiring, though, surely? Just from the - terminal of the second battery to the same earth (chassis) point as the existing battery. What I understand you must do, however, is to exactly match the two batteries. Unless your existing battery is relatively new, you'll probably need to buy two identical, new, batteries, and not just the one. If one is older than the other, or of different capacity, construction, or type, they will perform differently, and a lot - possibly all - of the advantage of having the second battery will be lost.
